Escapes
North
Under a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Bonnie
Hurd Smith was retained by the North of Boston Convention and
Visitors Bureau and the Peabody Essex Museum to create mostly online,
culturally-related materials that would entice visitors to the North
Shore.
Key
accomplishments:
Oversaw the creation of three themed trails directing visitors
to sites throughout the North Shore having to do with art,
architecture, or literature; worked closely with professional staff
and contractors on research, writing, and collecting
images.
Worked with local hotels, motels, and bed & breakfasts to develop similarly themed lodging packages.
Worked with technicians to transform the Escapes North website.
Helped develop the annual Escapes North brochure.
Consulted with North of Boston staff on advertisements, email blasts, and other internal communications methods.
Created materials to promote the 2007 17th Century Saturdays monthly events (a collaboration with Historic New England and the Essex National Heritage Commission).
Helped publicize Celebrate Salem, a summer-long collaboration among all of Salem's cultural organizations.
