Event flier
Patterned after the annual "Humantieis on the Hill" event in
Washington, D.C., the Massachusetts version was designed to educate
legislators about the value of the humanities to their communities.
The event was co-hosted by the Massachusetts Foundation for the
Humanities and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
The event
included:
• Remarks by honorary co-hosts, The Honorable Thomas F.
Birmingham, president, Massachusetts Senate, and The Honorable Thomas
Finneran, speaker, Massachusetts House of Representatives
• Remarks by featured guest speaker, Robert Pinsky, the U.S.
poet laureate
• Displays and presentations by recipients of grants from the
Massachusetts Foundation for the Humanities
Tasks:
• coordinated logistics with speakers, statehouse staff, and
grant recipients
• designed and distributed fliers
• arranged for media coverage
• managed the reception
