National Women's History Month in Salem 2004

To celebrate National Women's History Month and promote the
Salem Women's Heritage Trail, Bonnie Hurd Smith planned a series of lectures with the help of the researchers and scholars who had assisted with the Women's Heritage Trail. Between 30-50 people attended each lecture. Held at the Salem Maritime National Historic Site Visitor Center, these free evening lectures included:

Preservationist with a Purpose: The Legacies of Mrs. Mary Hemenway

Tasks:

• made arrangements with speakers
• worked with the Park Service on logistical issues
• designed and distributed posters and fliers
• placed listings in local media outlets
