Organizational Management:
The Salem Partnership


HurdSmith Communications was asked to oversee the daily operations of this public-private economic development organization in Salem, Mass., from July 2002 - September 2003. Services provided included:

• organizational communications (internal and external correspondence, notification of events and issues)

• meeting management for board, membership, and executive committee (planning, participation, minutes, and follow-up) as well as attendance with board president and chair at state, city, and community meetings

• regular interaction with local, state, and federal government officials to advance key Salem projects: new courts campus, By-pass Road, waterfront development

• public relations activities (regular interaction with media, community, governmental agencies)

• event planning (press conference with the City of Salem and Division of Capital Asset Management,
2003 Annual Meeting, fundraising event for the tall ship "Friendship of Salem")

• administrative tasks (correspondence, clipping file, redesign and maintenance of website)
