Working with writer Kris Bierfelt, Bonnie Hurd Smith researched,
wrote, and collected images for three themed trails to direct
visitors to sites on Boston's North Shore. The themes: Art,
Architecture, and Literature.

Ipswich
Historical Society and
Museum
While serving as executive director, Bonnie Hurd Smith researched and
wrote the text for this new website, conducting new research along
the way or compiling existing information into user-friendly
text.
Recent promotional
materials

Bonnie also wrote and designed promotional materials for the Ipswich
Historical Society, everything from their newsletter to rack cards,
posters, brochures, fliers, and event packages. This two-sided rack
card (pictured here) promoted the 2006 exhibit "Arthur Wesley Dow of
Ipswich," held in conjunction with the Peabody Essex Museum's exhibit
"Painting Summer in New England." The one next to it promoted the
Society's houses to tourists.

materials

Bonnie wrote fundraising letters, events packages, and this Case

"Mingling
Souls Upon Paper," An Eighteenth-Century Love
Story

essayist Judtih Sargent Murray documents the lovee story between
Judith and her second husband, the Universalist preacher John Murray,
through Judith's letters.

The
Letters I Left Behind: The Judith Sargent Murray Papers, Letter Book
10
Bonnie Hurd Smith's book on Judith
Sargent Murray's letter books (which she also designed) was published
in December 2004. Containing copies of letters the essayist Judith

publish each of the 20 letter books that Murray created. Bonnie is
currently working on Letter Book 3, and a special volume of
Judith Sargent Murray's love letters titled Mingling Souls Upon
Paper.
